Reinventing Womanhood: My Journey to Freedom, Creativity, and Self-Discovery

My friend visited my house recently and while we were talking she looked at my plant and casually told me that it had outgrown its pot. This very casual suggestion left me a bit  stumped as it made me think of my own life. I wondered if all the uneasiness that I’ve felt was due to me outgrowing the life I created for myself. As a mother of three boys navigating the complexities of divorce and entrepreneurship, I found myself at the crossroads with wanting to take the limits off my creativity and embrace what it means to be a woman. Not just a mother or business owner, but just a woman. 

This new season has become empowering for me because after 35 years I am finally starting to feel like myself. I think most women go through their own form of self-discovery whether it starts at a young age or older. While being a mother will always be my favorite position in life. I think it’s so important to really ask yourself what you like about you and what you are passionate about aside from the many roles we have to be for other people.
